how it all began

Hello and I am so glad you are here!

I am Teri, and I began making natural skin care products in 2019 for a crew of surf sisters who were wanting to reduce exposure to chemicals, do our part to keep plastic out of the ocean and tend to our element exposed skin and locks (as well as the inevitable cuts, scrapes and scratches that come with a surf life.)  I was exposed to plant based dying in 2021 after a dear friend, Heritage Dye House, introduced me to the illusive and capricious world of indigo.

Since then my garden has become an alchemists laboratory of working with medicinal herbs and plant based dyes.

I look forward to sharing with you.

the people's medicine

I believe we are in a time of returning to community herbalism, also known as the people's medicine.  It is the wisdom we all once held in our lineages, passed down through our elders and practiced in our kitchens.  Our collective inheritance to know how to make poultices, salves, lotions, teas, tinctures and oils so we may be empowered and responsible for our own health and wellness.

In deepening this relationship with plants and their timeless use for tending to our skin, hair and spirit there is also a call and responsibility for our planet.  We cannot litter our ocean with plastics, slather chemicals and fake fragrance on our bodies and participate in filling landfills with fast fashion without eventually having to pay the piper.  The debt is collected in the form of our own health.

I would like to invite you to re-member your innate connection to plants and what they have to teach us about beauty, wellness, healing and medicine.  And when in doubt, SALT (the ocean, a bath, sweat, crying) and SUN (go outside) are vital medicines in any prescription you may be crafting.

Green Blessings!
